Aidoc rakes in $66 million to address demand for its radiology AI

"Aidoc announced Tuesday that it raised $66 million in a Series C round to expand its artificial-intelligence (AI) platform, which it describes as the "first and only" cross-specialty AI platform for medical imaging. The company said the infusion of new funds will allow it to take its AI solutions to the "enterprise-grade level," while enabling clinicians to leverage AI for better patient outcomes.

CEO Elad Walach noted "we are experiencing a huge expansion," including a quadrupling of its customer base, as "a direct result of C-level executives adopting an AI strategy and integrating our platform as a must-have solution across clinical pathways." According to Aidoc, the Series C round follows a "surge in demand" for its AI-driven solutions, and it highlighted its recent tie-up with Radiology Partners as an example. The pair have described that collaboration as potentially resulting in "among the largest clinical deployments of AI in healthcare."

Aidoc said its FDA-cleared solutions analyse medical images for critical conditions and prompt actionable alerts in the imaging workflow, reducing turnaround time and improving quality of care. The FDA clearances are for use of the software to detect and alert for intracranial haemorrhage, large-vessel occlusions, pulmonary embolism, incidental pulmonary embolism, acute C-spine fractures, intra-abdominal free gas and rib fractures..."
