Dr.Scholl’s Custom 3D Prints Shoe Inserts for Your Foot: CES 2019

"n the United States, the name Dr.Scholl’s makes one immediately think of shoe inserts to make walking a bit more comfortable. But, if you remember, the company has had foot scanners at Walgreens and other pharmacies for many years before the terms “personalized medicine” and “3D scanning” were common terms. The company, a part of Bayer, now offers 3D printed shoe inserts that can be designed using a special Dr.Scholl’s smartphone app while you’re at home. The app takes a series of pictures of your foot, creates a 3D model of your foot, and then uses the data to manufacture a real insert custom built specifically for you.
